A new digital European Union (EU) Entry/Exit System (EES) will commence on 12 October 2025 for all non-EU nationals, including Australians, travelling in or out of the Schengen area.
How does it work ?
European countries using the EES will gradually introduce the system at their external borders, with full implementation by 10 April 2026. Arriving into your first European destination, you will be required to have your fingerprints and photo taken, and answer Schengen Border Code questions.
A digital record will be created that registers your biometric details. The registration is free and should only take a few minutes, but when the system starts, expect longer border queues.

Ta nedelja je 22. nedelja med letom. Pri sv.maši je ljudsko petje.
V tem tednu so prvi četrtek, petek in sobota. Vabljeni k bogoslužju in zakramentom. Prosim, obvestite me o bolnih in starejših rojakih, ki ne morejo k božjim službam, da jih obiščem in obhajam na prvi petek ali mesečno druge dni.
Prihodnja nedelja je 23. med letom, angelska in očetovski dan. Pri sv. maši bo druga nabirka za duhovniški sklad škofije Parramatta za upokojene duhovnike.
V soboto teden, 13.9.,je romanje v Marian Valley, QLD. Kdor se želi pridružiti, naj se čimprej prijavi, da uredimo letalske karte in prevoz do svetišča. Sv. maša bo tam ob 11.00 dopoldne in procesija v kapelici marije pomagaj. Nato gremo na skupno kosilo.
Tudi na romanje v Penrose Park mislimo v tem svetem letu in iz berimo fatimski dan v naslednjih mesecih, po dogovoru. Naša kapelica v Penrose Parku bo kmalu stara 30 let in že kliče po ob novi. Za obnovo lahko darujete v župnijski pisarni ali elektronsko. Za kapelico in obnovo skrbi sedaj Andrew Žičkar, naš organist v Wollongongu.
Čimprej se tudi prijavite zakonski jubilanti za rafaelovo žegnanje, 28.9., in še drugi rojaki za skupno kosilo po sv. maši! Zlatoporočenci in starejši ste dobrodošli vsako leto!
POSLOVIL SE JE FLORJAN AUSER
V ponedeljek, 18. avgusta 2025, smo ob 14. uri darovali za Florjana sveto mašo pred milostnim oltarjem Marije Pomagaj na Brezjah. Na Brezjah smo se s Florjanom pogosto srečevali in tako je bilo tam tudi naše zadnje slovo, napolnjeno s hvaležnostjo in molitvijo. Maševala sva p. David Šrumpf in p. Ciril A. Božič, peli so mu prijatelji s sosedom Zdravkom, ki mu je namenil tudi besede slovesa. Gospa Lesley, ki je žaro prinesla v Slovenijo, nam je Florjana živo predstavila, da je v naših mislih in slikah kar 'oživel'. Poleg sorodnikov in prijateljev so se sv. maše udeležile tudi predstavnice NUK-a, Arhiva RS in Urada za Slovence v zamejstvu in po svetu. Telo pokojnega Florjana je bilo kremirano v Melbournu v torek, 6. maja 2025.
Žaro smo položili v grob njegove pokojne mame na pokopališču Križe pri Tržiču na Gorenjskem.
Naj dragi Florjan počiva v Božjem miru!

St. Raphael in Merrylands, with rosary at 9:30 a.m. She will be buried at the Slovenian lawn of St. Raphael’s at Rookwood.

Ta nedelja je 21. nedelja med letom. Pri sv.maši je ljudsko petje.
V septembru vas vabimo na romanje v Marian Valley v soboto, 13.9., ob 16. obletnici kapelice Marije Pomagaj. Sv. maša bo ob 11.00 dopoldne in nato procesijah kapelici Marije Pomagaj. Isti dan je tudi fatimski dan. Rojaki, ki bi želeli poromati v Marian Valley, se čimprej oglasite patru Darku, da uredimo letalske karte in prevoz do svetišča.
Zadnjo nedeljo v septembru praznujemo rafaelovo žegnanje in zakonske jubileje. Dva zakonska para sta se že prijavila (vsi so jubilanti), drugi pa se prijavite čimprej! Zlatoporočenci ste dobrodošli vsakoleto!
Slovenski rojaki v Wollongongu bodo imeli občni zbor v soboto, 30.8., ob 2.00 popoldne v dvorani kluba Planica v Figtreeju. V naši cerkvi vseh svetih v Figtreeju smo obhajali zadnjo sv. mašo v nedeljo, 10.8., zbralo se nas je 36. Hvala vsem, ki smo prišli skupaj, in tistim, ki ste bili v duhu z nami! Od septembra dalje bomo imeli sv. maše v Wollongongu v hrvaški cerkvi Marije Kraljice, 7-9 bellevue road, Figtree. Prva sv. maša bo tam v nedeljo, 14.9., ob 4.00 popoldne.
Prosimo, obvestite nas o bolnikih. Poskrbimo, da prejmejo zakramente.

On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, Roza Kavaš, née Škafar, passed away in Sutherland Hospital, NSW. She was 95 years old and was born in Odranci, Prekmurje. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine Laboure Parish Church in Gymea, NSW. She will be buried at Woronora Cemetery.

Ta nedelja je 20. nedelja med letom. Pri sv. maši poje mešani zbor.
Ob 5.00 popoldne je sv.maša v Canberri.
Od septembra dalje bomo imeli sv. maše v Wollongongu v hrvaški cerkvi Marije Kraljice, 7-9 Bellevue Road, Figtree. Cerkev je samo kilometer stran od naše dosedanje cerkve, parkirišče je dovolj veliko in bo za nas veliko lažje, kot če iščemo ali se celo lovimo kje v mestu.
Sv. maše bodo tam še naprej vsako 2. nedeljo v mesecu: prvič v nedeljo, 14.9., ob 4.00 popoldne, od oktobra in čez poletje pa ob 5.00 popoldne.
Za druge svete maše se dogovorimo. Svete maše ob pogrebih v Wollongongu ostanejo kot doslej, vendar se dogovorimo s P. Robertom Sliškovićem za dan in uro. V drugih župnijah pa s krajevnimi župniki.
Sv. maša za rojake v Queenslandu bo v soboto, 13.9., ob 11.00 dopoldne v Marijinem Svetišču Marian Valley ob 16.obletnici naše kapelice Marije Pomagaj. Vabljeni tudi drugi slovenski rojaki, da bomo skupaj romarji upanja.

On Sunday, 10.8.2025, DANILA PIRJEVEC, née BAVCON, passed away at Holy Spirit Nursing Home in Croydon, NSW. She was 101 years old and was born in Selo, Batuje Parish.
The funeral Mass will be held on Monday, 18.8.2025, at 11:00 am at St. Raphael's Merrylands, with a rosary at 10:30 am. She will be at the St. Raphael’s Slovenian lawn Rookwood.
On Thursday, 14.8.2025, BRANKO PEZDIRC, died at Auburn Hospital, NSW.
He was 89 and born in Drašiči Metlika. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, 22.8.2025, at 10.30 am at St. Raphael's Merrylands, with a rosary at 10.00 am. He will be buried at the St. Raphael's Slovenian lawn Rookwood.

Dr. Gumbo Launches "Stir the Pot” – A Bold Mix of Global Grooves and Slovenian Soul
He has been entertaining the Slovenian community and the wider Australian audience for decades through his various bands. And there’s no sign of him slowing down! Stefan Sernek (jnr) recently launched his latest project, a vibrant new band, along with their debut album Stir the Pot. Our very own Jordan Covich was there to celebrate the launch, joining members of the community who came out in support of Stefan. The atmosphere was electric, filled with great music, warm energy, and a strong sense of connection.
Be sure to tune in to tomorrow’s program, where Stefan shares his love for the accordion, the story behind the band, and why they chose the name Stir the Pot.

Australian Slovenian Sporting Talent on Global Stage
Daniel and Nicole Samsa, two members of the third generation in Sydney are competing at The World Games in Chengdu China from 14th to the 17th August. This event attracts all sports that are not in the Olympics. They will be competing against 7 other countries as the top 8 qualify from the previous world championships. Countries include France, Italy and Slovenia. They are competing in the Double Rapid Relay together and the Progressive Throw individually, which showcases the athletic aspect of the sport, where they will throw at a target, while running continuously for a total of 5 mins.

Občni zbor članov Kluba Triglav Sydney
V ponedeljek 4 Avgusta je bil občni zbor članov Kluba Triglav Sydney. Čeprav v slabem in deževnem dnevu, se ga je udeležilo zajetno število članov, ki jih zanima delovanje in načrti kluba v bodče. Po podanih poročilih uprave in odbora kluba so bili za dobo dveh let ponovno potrjeni iskušeni in delovni dosedanji člani odbora.
Od leve proti desni: Silvo Pahor, John Rapinette, Walter Suber, Stefanie Fabjancic tretja generacija, Peter Krope, Louis Magajna, Andrew Suber tretja generacija.
Razveseljivo dejstvo je, da se je pričela prebujati druga in tretja generacija Slovencev, ki želi nadaljevati z delom njihovih staršev in starih staršev in na ta način po njihovih močeh nadaljevati kulturno dediščino njihovih prednikov. Slovenija je čedalje bolj prepoznavna kar med mlajšimi generacijami budi ponos in zanimanje o vsem kaj Slovenija je in kaj ponuja.

DANES OB 4.00 POPOLDNE JE ŠE ZADNJA SV. MAŠA V WOLLONGONGU - FIGTREEJU V NAŠI CERKVI VSEH SVETIH. PO 43 LETIH KONČUJEMO TAM BOŽJE SLUŽBE IN SREČANJA. Naj bo današnja sveta maša res zahvala Bogu in priporočimo se mu naprej. Obnovili bomo posvetitev slovenskega naroda Materi Božji in na koncu zapeli zahvalno pesem.
OD SEPTEMBRA DALJE BOMO IMELI SV. MAŠE V WOLLONGONGU V HRVAŠKI CERKVI MARIJE KRALJICE, 7-9 Bellevue Road, FIGTREE. Cerkev je samo kilometer stran od naše dosedanje cerkve, parkirišče je dovolj veliko in bo za nas veliko lažje, kot če iščemo ali se celo lovimo kje v mestu.

S 1. avgustom so nekateri duhovniki in redovniki nastopili nove službe, novomašnika (letos sta samo 2) pa prvi kaplanski službi.
1. P. DAVID ŠRUMPF OFM, voditelj slovenskega misijona sv. Družine v Adelaide in pomočnik v Melbournu, je postal samostanski vikar na Brezjah. V Slovenijo se je vrnil 30.7.2025.
2. P. SIMON PETER BERLEC OFM v Melbournu bo soupravitelj misijona sv. Družine v Adelaide.
3. P. NIKO ŽVOKELJ OFM je imenovan za kaplana in gvardijana v Novem mestu.
4. P. BERNARD GOLIČNIK OFM je imenovan za samostanskega vikarja in rektorja bazilike Matere Božje na Sveti Gori.
5. G. ŠTEFAN KRAMPAČ SDB (salezijanec) je imenovan za duhovnega pomočnika v župnijah Šentrupert in Mirna na Dolenjskem.
Osmrtnica (Death Notice)
FLORJAN AUSER (deceased. 24.4.2025 in Melbourne, VIC) will be buried on Monday, 18.8.2025, in Slovenia. There will be a funeral mass in Brezje at 2.00 pm,
and at 3.30 pm the funeral will be held in Križe pri Tržiču.

Farewell Pater David Šrumpf
The Slovenian Community in Adelaide has recently farewelled Pater David Šrumpf. Over these many years, Pater David has dedicated his life to serving the Slovenian community and the wider Catholic community,in Adelaide and around Australia.

Predlagali ste tri možnosti. Hrvaška cerkev je velika več kot dovolj, parkirišče je tukaj največje in veliko lažje bomo prišli tja, saj je hrvaška cerkev samo en (1) kilometer oddaljena od naše dosedanje Božje hiše.

NAŠI POKOJNI
V torek, 22.7.2025, je v domu starejših Anthem Care v Bowralu, NSW, umrla VERONIKA - VERA KRAJNIK, rojena VUČKO. Dočakala je 89 let, rojena je bila na Srednji Bistrici v župniji Črenšovci. Pogrebno sv. mašo so obhajali v petek, 25.7.2025, v župnijski cerkvi sv. Mihaela v Mittagongu. Pokopana je na pokopališču Welby.
V sredo, 30.7.2025, je v bolnišnici v Bankstownu umrl EMIL KAPELJ, star 91 let. Rojen je bil v Novi Sušici pri Pivki, v župniji Košana. Pogrebni obred - brez maše bo v petek, 8.8.2025, ob 2.00 popoldne v kapeli Mother of Mercy na katoliškem pokopališču v Rookwoodu. Pokopan bo na slovenskem pokopališču sv. Rafaela v Rookwoodu.
