Robert Mikuletic

Son of Slovenian parents, Robert Mikuletic is the current State open Bocce Champion. Although only 19 years of age, he has represented Australia at 4 world titles and 8 national championships.... It would seem that he is no where near his full potential and will continue to excel in his sport.

Robert began playing bocce at 12 years of age, after watching a friend. Training with is father Max and family friends, Robert quickly picked up the sills and technique and two years later already represented NSW at the Junior Nationa Championships.

Since then he has not looked back. He has represented NSW in almost all states, and traveled to Italy, Croatia, France and Maroco after being picked in the National Junior teams. He was National Champion in ..........and National Precision throwing Champion in....... Since turning 18, he has competed in open competition, where he not only won the State Championships in 1998 with Partner Steve Chiandotto, but was also State precision throwing Champion in 1998.

Outside of bocce, Robert is studying a bachelor of Human Movement degree at the University of Sydney. It is through this degree that he hopes to promote his sport, particularly through school sport. Although the demands of study and playing bocce are great, Robert is determined to excel at both. His eyes set on the 2004 Olympics where it is likely that bocce will be included.
