Military Museum Celebrates 20 years
If there is one place in Slovenia that truly brings military history, warfare and artillery to life, it is the Park of Military History in the Notranjska-Primorska town of Pivka. This year, the museum is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a special program designed to mark the milestone and honour its rich legacy.

World Bee Day, 20 May 2026
Did you know that Slovenia was the main initiator of May 20 to the
United Nations (UN) as World Bee Day ?
Following this in 2017 after several years of international efforts, the UN Member States approved Slovenia’s proposal and declared May 20, as World Bee Day.

For Slovenian descendants (or their partners) who are interested in family tree research and are looking for some internet links and information. The session will run as a PowerPoint presentation suitable for the entire group, so there will be limited opportunity to focus on individuals.

Pater Darko obvešča :
Nedelja 17.maja je praznik Gospodovega Vnebohoda. Pri sv. maši bo ljudsko petje.
Ob 5.00 popoldne bo sv. maša v Canberri.
V nedeljo, 17.maja, je tudi 30-letnica, odkar je Papež Sv. Janez Pavel II. obiskal Slovenijo in Brezje. Sprejel ga je tedanji gvardijan in Rektor Bazilike Marije Pomagaj p. Ciril A. Božič, ki bo v nedeljo na Brezjah daroval slovesno sv. mašo ob 10.00 dopoldne po krajevnem času. Ljubljanski nadškof Metropolit Msgr. Stanislav Zore pa bo zahvalno sv. mašo ob 30-letnici Papeževega obiska daroval v Ljubljanski stolnici Sv. Nikolaja v nedeljo ob 4.00 popoldne po krajevnem času.
NAŠI POKOJNI
V torek, 12.5.2026, je v bolnišnici v Shellharbourju, NSW, umrla IVANKA ŽABKAR, rojena ŠKODA. Dočakala je 95 let, doma je bila z Rake. Pogrebna sv. maša bo v ponedeljek teden, 25.5.2026, ob 11.00 dopoldne v hrvaški cerkvi Marije Kraljice v Wollongongu – Figtreeju. Pokopana bo na pokopališču Lakeside – Kanahooka.
40 let Škofije Parramatta
Letos 8.aprila. je naša škofija Parramatta praznovala svojo 40-letnico. Zahvalna sv. maša bo v nedeljo, 31.maja., ob 2.00 popoldne. Naš Škof Msgr. Vincent Long Van Nguyen posebej vabi predstavnike: družine, posameznike, zakonce, zastopnike iz vsake župnije po 3. prijavitese v naši župnijski pisarni.
Sv. mašo bo vodil apostolski nuncij Nadškof Msgr. Charles Balvo, ki se bo takrat tudi poslovil od Avstralije, letos junija odhaja v pokoj ob svoji 75-letnici.
Kapelica Memorial and How to Donate
The committee determined that the project will be divided into 4 parts:
1. Kapelica repairs and painting – the design of the kapelica will remain the same, but repairs will be required to restore it to its original state.
2. Landscaping – the garden area in and around the Kapelica will be given a fresh look with new planting and restored seating.
3. Memorial Stone –a memorial stone will form part of the landscaping design with all the names of priests and nuns who have served at St Raphaels.
4. Funding – generosity of the Slovenian community will help us achieve our goal. Details for anyone wishing to donate are:
