Bled Accordion Event: Early May
Once again, Lake Bled will come alive with the sounds of traditional accordions on Saturday, 9 May and Sunday 10 May. An annual tradition, this first began in May 2009 as a part of the World Accordion Day Celebrations. Anzac Day
The Ode

Tomorrow, we take a moment to reflect on a significant day in our annual calendar—one that gives us the opportunity to honour all who have served as part of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) across wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping missions.
For those wishing to attend services, please refer to your local newspapers or community notices for times and locations. In Sydney, Club Triglav Mounties will be hosting an ANZAC Day service, and in Canberra, the Slovenian Australian Association Canberra will also be holding commemorative activities. Pater Darko obvešča :
Ta nedelja 26.aprila je 4. Velikonočna nedelja. Pri sv. maši je ljudsko petje.
Glasovnice za volitve članov novega Pastoralnega Sveta so še na razpolago. Oddajte jih do 10.maja (materinski dan in papeška nedelja).
Čimprej tudi vrnite šparovčke “project compassion”, če jih še niste.
Za sveto deželo smo na Veliki petek zbrali v Merrylandsu $ 335, v Wollongongu pa pri sv. maši na Veliko Noč $ 110. Bog povrni za vaš dar!
Še vedno zbiramo vaše darove za obnovo kapelice – znamenja na našem slovenskem pokopališču Rookwood.
Gospa Mona Goubran iz Campbelltowna, Direktorica Creative Art School Sydney, ki je Novembra in Decembra 2024 obnovila naše cerkvene jaslice, bo ta teden začela obnavljati freske na znamenju.
Uprava katoliškega pokopališča Rookwood (Catholic Cemetery Board) bo ob kapelici – znamenju uredila dodatne gredice za žarne grobove.
Šmarnice bomo začeli prihodnjo nedeljo, 3.maja., in jih imeli vsak četrtek in nedeljo v majupri sv. mašah. Vabljeni k udeležbi: vsako nedeljo ob 9.30 in vsak četrtek ob 10.30 dopoldne!
40 let Škofije Parramatta
Letos 8.aprila. je naša škofija Parramatta praznovala svojo 40-letnico. Zahvalna sv. maša bo v nedeljo, 31.maja., ob 2.00 popoldne. Naš Škof Msgr. Vincent Long Van Nguyen posebej vabi predstavnike: družine, posameznike, zakonce, zastopnike iz vsake župnije po 3. prijavitese v naši župnijski pisarni.
Sv. mašo bo vodil apostolski nuncij Nadškof Msgr. Charles Balvo, ki se bo takrat tudi poslovil od Avstralije, letos junija odhaja v pokoj ob svoji 75-letnici.
Osmrtnice (Death Notices)
On Monday, 20th April 2026, Antonija – Tončka Poklar, née Dujc, died at Pines Living Nursing home in Farrer, ACT (Canberra). She was 89 years old and was born in Podgraje, Ilirska Bistrica. The funeral mass will be on Friday, 1st May 2026, at 10.30 am at St. Peter and Paul in Garran, ACT. She will be buried at Woden Cemetery.
Kapelica Memorial and How to Donate
The committee for the restoration of the Kapelica Memorial at Rookwood cemetery met on the 22 February 2026. The committee determined that the project will be divided into 4 parts:
1. Kapelica repairs and painting – the design of the kapelica will remain the same, but repairs will be required to restore it to its original state.
2. Landscaping – the garden area in and around the Kapelica will be given a fresh look with new planting and restored seating.
3. Memorial Stone –a memorial stone will form part of the landscaping design with all the names of priests and nuns who have served at St Raphaels.
4. Funding – generosity of the Slovenian community will help us achieve our goal. Details for anyone wishing to donate are:
