Celebrating the Strength, Love, and Joy of Mothers
Motherhood is made up of countless small moments that often go unseen—early mornings, late nights, quiet encouragements, and unwavering care. It’s not defined by a single role or milestone, but by a lifetime of presence, patience, and love.
Sunday is a moment to pause and recognise the women who have shaped us in ways both big and small. It’s also a time to reflect on the lessons passed down—spoken and unspoken—and how they continue to guide the way we live, love, and relate to others. From everyday routines to life-changing decisions, the influence of a mother often sits quietly in the background, steady and enduring.
So whether Sunday is filled with celebration, reflection, or simple gratitude, it’s an opportunity to acknowledge the impact of mothers and mother figures everywhere—and to say thank you in whatever way feels most genuine.

An Apostille is required for Australian documents to be officially recognised in Slovenia.
It confirms:
- The document is genuine, or
- A Notary Public’s signature is valid
Important:
- A Notary Public cannot issue an Apostille
- A Notary can arrange one for you (usually for a fee)
How to obtain an Apostille:
- Use a Notary or specialist agency, or
- Apply directly through DFAT by post or in person at a Passport Office

Tedenske Novice
Pater Darko obvešča :
Nedelja 10.maja je 6. velikonočna nedelja, papeška nedelja in materinski dan. Pri sv. maši poje ljudsko petje.
V nedeljo molimo za našega Sv. Očeta Leona XIV. ob prvi obletnici izvolitve za kristusovega namestnika. Po obhajilu zapojemo zahvalno pesem.
Ob 4.00 popoldne je sv. maša v Wollongongu – Figtreeju, v hrvaški cerkvi Marije Kraljice. Sv. maše so tam vsako 2. nedeljo v mesecu ob 4.00 popoldne do vključno Septembra.
Ob voščilu za materinski dan se spomnimo še na duhovno materinstvo in očetovstvo, na nenadomestljivo vlogo botrov, čeprav se je vloga botrov zelo spremenila, vendar poslanstvo in pomoč pri vzgoji ostajata, ker je vzgoja danes zelo potisnjena na rob.
V četrtek je prošnji dan, redno srečanje molitvene skupine ob 10.00 in sv. maša ob 10.30 dopoldne. Pred sv. mašo bomo zmolili litanije vseh svetnikov in prosili gospoda za blagoslov našega dela, odvrnitev naravnih nesreč , hude ure, za dobro letino in za mir v svetu. Pri sv. maši beremo šmarnice.
Praznik gospodovega vnebohoda praznujemo pri nas prihodnjo nedeljo, 17.maja. Sv. maši sta ob 9.30 dopoldne v Merrylandsu in ob 5.00 popoldne v Canberri.
40 let Škofije Parramatta
Letos 8.aprila. je naša škofija Parramatta praznovala svojo 40-letnico. Zahvalna sv. maša bo v nedeljo, 31.maja., ob 2.00 popoldne. Naš Škof Msgr. Vincent Long Van Nguyen posebej vabi predstavnike: družine, posameznike, zakonce, zastopnike iz vsake župnije po 3. prijavitese v naši župnijski pisarni.
Sv. mašo bo vodil apostolski nuncij Nadškof Msgr. Charles Balvo, ki se bo takrat tudi poslovil od Avstralije, letos junija odhaja v pokoj ob svoji 75-letnici.
Kapelica Memorial and How to Donate
The committee determined that the project will be divided into 4 parts:
1. Kapelica repairs and painting – the design of the kapelica will remain the same, but repairs will be required to restore it to its original state.
2. Landscaping – the garden area in and around the Kapelica will be given a fresh look with new planting and restored seating.
3. Memorial Stone –a memorial stone will form part of the landscaping design with all the names of priests and nuns who have served at St Raphaels.
4. Funding – generosity of the Slovenian community will help us achieve our goal. Details for anyone wishing to donate are:

including two for young learners.
7:00 a.m. Sunday (QLD time): For beginners—kids learn Slovenian through songs, games, and basic grammar.
8:00 a.m. Sunday: For children aged 9+ with some Slovenian knowledge.
