Kapelica Memorial Update
The committee for the restoration of the Kapelica Memorial at Rookwood cemetery met on the 22 February 2026. The committee determined that the project will be divided into 4 parts:
1. Kapelica repairs and painting – the design of the kapelica will remain the same, but repairs will be required to restore it to its original state.
2. Landscaping – the garden area in and around the Kapelica will be given a fresh look with new planting and restored seating.
3. Memorial Stone –a memorial stone will form part of the landscaping design with all the names of priests and nuns who have served at St Raphaels.
4. Funding – generosity of the Slovenian community will help us achieve our goal. Details for anyone wishing to donate are:

Honouring Weddings & Anniversaries
VOSA Sydney is delighted to celebrate weddings and anniversaries in our weekly newsletter. This week, we’re proud to honour a special anniversary and a recent wedding.

We are delighted to recognise Olga and Jože Lah, who recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in early March.
This milestone is a testament to their enduring commitment to one another. For decades, Olga and Jože have been dedicated and passionate pillars of the Slovenian community, with Olga currently serving as the President of the Historical Archives of Slovenian Australians (HASA NSW).
Congratulations, Olga and Jože, on this extraordinary milestone ! May the years ahead be filled with joy, love, beautiful adventures, and countless cherished moments together.
Next, we are thrilled to feature Nicole Samsa and Corentin Julien, who tied the knot last Saturday, witnessed by family and friends.
Nicole and Corentin’s love story begun whilst playing bocce, a cherished sport of many Slovenians, and has flourished beautifully since then.
Congratulations to the happy couple as they embark on this exciting new chapter together!

Pater Darko obvešča :
Nedelja.22 marca je 5. postna nedelja. Ob 9.00 bomo molili križev pot,
ob 9.30 dopoldne je sv. maša z ljudskim petjem.
Srečanje molitvene skupine bo ta teden že v sredo, 25.3., ko praznujemo
praznik gospodovega Oznanjenja Mariji. Ob 10.00 molimo rožni venec,
ob 10.30 dopoldne je sv. maša. zvečer je sv. maša ob 7.00.
V četrtek ne bo sv. maše, ker imam sestanek Duhovniškega Sveta v Wollongongu.
Prosimo, obvestite nas o bolnikih. Poskrbimo, da prejmejo zakramente pred velikonočnimi prazniki.
Veliki teden in Velika Noč
Easter Week Mass Times
Cvetna Nedelja: Sv. maša z blagoslovom zelenja in pasijonom ob 9.30 dopoldne.
Veliki Četrtek: Sv. maša ob 5.00 popoldne in molitvena ura.
Veliki Petek: Obredi ob 3.00 popoldne.
Velika Sobota: Od 2.00 popoldne bo češčenje jezusa v božjem grobu. Blagoslova velikonočnih jedil bosta ob 2.00 in ob 5.00 popoldne. – Velikonočna Vigilija in sv. maša ob 7.00 zvečer in blagoslov jedil.
Velika Noč: Vstajenjska procesija in sv. maša bosta ob 8.00 zjutraj v Merrylandsu. Po sv. maši blagoslov velikonočnih jedil.
Ob 12.00 – opoldne sv. maša v Wollongongu – Figtreeju v hrvaški cerkvi Marije Kraljice in blagoslov velikonočnih jedil. Nabirka pri tej sv. maši bo za cerkev v sveti deželi, ker na cvetno nedeljo in Veliki Petek v Wollongongu nimamo božje službe.
Ob 6.00 zvečer je sv. maša v Canberri, v cerkvi Sv. Petra in Pavla, in blagoslov velikonočnih jedil.
Na Velikonočni Ponedeljek, 6.4., je sv. maša ob 9.30 dopoldne v Merrylandsu, pred sv. mašo molimo rožni venec. Po sv. maši bo v naši dvorani kosilo ($ 30) in Pirhovanje. Za kosilo se čimprej prijavite do konca tega meseca. Imeli bomo tudi srečolov – raffle, zato vas vabimo, da pripravite – prispevate dobitke. Hvala vam.
