Olympic Success for Slovenia
Sport is an important part of Slovenian identity and culture, with the nation proudly celebrating its love of sport each year on September 23. From grassroots participation to elite competition, sport plays a unifying role across communities and generations, in Slovenia.
This national pride was proudly showcased by the Slovenian olympic heroes at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, where they demonstrated exceptional talent, determination, and passion on the world stage. Their performances not only highlighted Slovenia’s strong sporting tradition but also inspired pride at home and admiration abroad.

Slovenian Elections to the National Assembly – 22 March 2026
All Slovenian citizens living in Australia, who have their Australian address correctly registered in the Slovenian register, as a permanent address were sent voting papers from Slovenia and should receive them before the elections.

Pust Celebrations- Slovenian Australian Association Canberra
Nothing but good vibes from the start — a bit of mischief, loads of laughter, and somehow everyone found themselves “behind bars” at some point… yes, even the musicians! The jail was a hit!
The costumes were next level — so much effort, so much creativity, and it just added to the whole vibe of the night.
The Kurent brought the heat and lifted the whole night to another level. The energy was contagious, the crowd was on fire, and the atmosphere was something special.
One of those nights where everyone just switched off, showed up, and had an absolute blast. Definitely a night to remember!

Pater Darko obvešča :
Nedelja 1.marca je 2. postna nedelja. Pri sv. maši poje mešani zbor.
Na pustno nedeljo, 15.2., smo s pustnimi krofi zbrali $ 1,165. Izkupiček bomo namenili za obnovo kapelice na našem pokopališču Rookwood – Bog plačaj!
V četrtek, 26.2., nas je obiskal in maševal za nas p. Tomaž Hočevar iz Novega Mesta, ki je Generalni Vizitator Hrvaških Frančiškanov Province Sv. Cirila in Metoda. Dobrodošel med nami!
Križev pot molimo vsak četrtek ob 10.00 dopoldne in vsak petek ob 6.30 zvečer, nato je sv. maša.
Češčenje najsvetejšega je vsak petek v postnem času od 6.00 do 6.30 zvečer.
Osmrtnice (Death Notice)
On Monday, 9.2.2026, MARTIN SIMČIČ, aged 95, died in a hospital in Ryde, NSW. He was born in Gorizia. The funeral service will be held this coming Tuesday, 3.3.2026, at 10:00 am at St. Raphael’s Merrylands. He will be buried at the Slovenian lawn of St. Raphael’s,Rookwood Cemetery.
