Easter Messages – Slovenian Organisations
Dear members of the Slovenian community in Australia, I would like to extend my heartfelt wishes for peace and inner strength this Easter. May the holiday season bring you a sense of connection and fill you with hope for the days ahead. Easter reminds us of the triumph of light over darkness and life over death, messages that are especially meaningful in the complex global circumstances we all face, whether we live in Slovenia or Australia.

An Apostille is required for Australian documents to be officially recognised in Slovenia.
It confirms:
• The document is genuine, or
• A Notary Public’s signature is valid
Important:

A Notary Public cannot issue an Apostille
• A Notary can arrange one for you (usually for a fee)
How to obtain an Apostille:
• Use a Notary or specialist agency, or
• Apply directly through DFAT by post or in person at a Passport Office

Pater Darko obvešča :
Nedelja 5.aprila je Velika Noč Gospodovega Vstajenja. Ob 8.00 zjutraj vstajenjska procesija in sv. maša. Poje mešani zbor. – po sv. maši bo blagoslov velikonočnih jedil.
Ob 12.00 – opoldne je sv. maša v Wollongongu – Figtreeju – v hrvaški cerkvi Marije Kraljice – in blagoslov velikonočnih jedil. Nabirka pri tej sv. maši bo za sveto deželo.
Ob 6.00 zvečer je sv. maša v Canberri – v cerkvi Sv. Petra in Pavla in blagoslov velikonočnih jedil.
Na velikonočni ponedeljek, je sv. maša ob 9.30 dopoldne. Po sv. maši kosilo v dvorani ($ 30) in Pirhovanje. Imeli bomo tudi srečolov, izkupiček bo za obnovo kapelice na našem pokopališču.
V Nedeljo premaknili ure na sončni čas. Večerne sv. maše ob delavnikih so od torka naprej ob 6.00 zvečer, razen ob četrtkih.
Bolne in starejše, ki jih obhajam vsak mesec, bom obiskal v petek po veliki noči in še v naslednjih dneh.
OSMRTNICA (Death Notice)
On Saturday, 28.3.2026, SILVO FRANCA, aged 91, died at the Mater Hospital in North Sydney. He was born in Gračišče, Istria, in the parish of Sočerga. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, 7.4.2026, at 12.30 pm in the Mother of Mercy Chapel in Rookwood. He will be buried at the Slovenian lawn of St. Raphael’s.
Kapelica Memorial and How to Donate
The committee for the restoration of the Kapelica Memorial at Rookwood cemetery met on the 22 February 2026. The committee determined that the project will be divided into 4 parts:
1. Kapelica repairs and painting – the design of the kapelica will remain the same, but repairs will be required to restore it to its original state.
2. Landscaping – the garden area in and around the Kapelica will be given a fresh look with new planting and restored seating.
3. Memorial Stone –a memorial stone will form part of the landscaping design with all the names of priests and nuns who have served at St Raphaels.
4. Funding – generosity of the Slovenian community will help us achieve our goal. Details for anyone wishing to donate are:
