Important Information for Slovenian Citizens in Australia
Death of a Slovenian Citizen – Slovenian Pension (ZPIZ)
This applies only if the deceased was receiving a pension from Slovenia.
The death should also be notified to the Zavod za pokojninsko in invalidsko zavarovanje Slovenije (ZPIZ).
What to send:
• A copy of the Death Certificate – Apply for a death certificate

• A copy of any recent letter from ZPIZ (if available – it contains the pension reference number)

Slovenian Elections to the National Assembly – 22 March 2026
All Slovenian citizens living in Australia, who have their Australian address correctly registered in the Slovenian register, as a permanent address were sent voting papers from Slovenia and should receive them before the elections.

Pater Darko obvešča :
Nedelja 8.marca je 3. postna nedelja. Pri sv. maši je ljudsko petje.
Ob 5.00 popoldne je sv. maša v Figtreeju – Wollongongu.
Hrvaški katoliški center Newcastle (17 bryant street, Tighes Hill) vabi na praznovanje svojega zavetnika sv. Jožefa to soboto, 14.3.2026. Sv. mašo ob 11.00 dopoldne bo vodil p. Klaudio Milohanović iz St. John’s Parka v cerkvi Matere Božje. Pred sv. mašo molitev rožnega venca in spovedovanje, po sv. maši bo skupno kosilo. Vabljeni tudi slovenski rojaki. Ker parkirnih mest ni veliko, se odpravite dovolj zgodaj.
Križev pot molimo vsak četrtek ob 10.00 dopoldne in vsak petek ob 6.30 zvečer, nato je sv. maša.
Češčenje najsvetejšega je vsak petek v postnem času od 6.00 do 6.30 zvečer.
Prosimo, obvestite nas o bolnikih. poskrbimo, da prejmejo zakramente pred velikonočnimi prazniki.
Osmrtnice (Death Notice)
On Monday, On Saturday, 28.2.2026, FRANC PEČOVNIK, aged 92, died at Nepean Hospital in Penrith, NSW. He was born in Vuhred. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, 10.3.2026, at 10:00 am, St. Raphael’s in Merrylands, with a rosary at 9:30 am. He will be buried at the Slovenian lawn section of St. Raphael’s at Rookwood.
