Avstraliji.
Veselimo se Vaše današnje navzočnosti na 40. Slovenskem mladinskem koncertu
tukaj v dvorani Slovenskega misijona svetih bratov Cirila in Metoda v Kew, v
tem prelepem delu Melbourna.
40 let pomeni v Svetem pismu dobo ene generacije. Toliko let že pripravljamo
slovenski frančiškani skupaj z mnogimi sodelavci ta čudovita kulturna in verska
srečanja. Naj bosta današnji in jutrišnji dan še posebej praznična!
Slovenskem mladinskem koncertu vsaj tri slovenskoavstralske
Skoraj 89 let
staremu patru Valerijanu Jenku OFM OAM pa prisrčen pozdrav v Ljubljano!

Melbourne – Kew, praznik sv. Frančiška Asiškega, 4. oktobra 2014
Good day, good people!
With this St Francis of Assisi greeting - who's feast we celebrate today - we, the Slovenian Franciscan brothers, who work amongst you here in Australia, welcome you to this jubilee celebration. We are blessed today with the presence of our Australian Franciscan Brothers – Br. Jim Fitzgerald, the Vicar of St. Paschal’s Friary in Box Hill and Fr. Bob Matthews who celebrated the Holy Mass last Sunday in our church here in Kew. Welcome brothers and Pace e bene!
We are delighted, good people, in your presence here today in the hall of the Slovenian Mission of Sts. Cyril and Methodius in Kew; this beautiful part of Melbourne, for the celebration of the 40th Slovenian Youth Concert.
In Biblical terms, 40 years represents a generation. This is how many years we, the Slovenian Franciscans, together with many people who were and are supporting us, have been preparing these special cultural and religious gatherings. May today and tomorrow's celebrations be especially joyful. With these celebrations we also join in celebrating 500 years of the Slovenian Franciscan province of the Holy Cross.
Throughout this 40th Slovenian Youth concert, we tie together at least three Slovenian-Australian generations. We join in the spirit of our Pope Francis (who celebrates his feast day today) who said: “The youth are our wings and the elderly our roots. Without wings and without roots, we don't know who we are and where we should go!”
Today's jubilee concert has wings and roots!
With gratitude we remember Father Bazilij Valentin OFM MBE (deceased 26th July, 1997) and Father Janez Tretjak OFM, who passed away 27th July this year. To Father Valerijan Jenko OFM OAM who will be nearly 89 years old, we send our warmest regards to Ljubljana!
Thank you for joining us here today, thank you to all of you who in your own way throughout 40 years up until today, are and will continue to be a Slovenian at Heart! And you have worked and are working for this! Even Australians – like Mr. Chris McKean, Mr. David Roberts, Mr. Craig Pase, Mr. Grant Johnson and many others who are always helping us. Thank you!
Peace and good!
God bless us all!
OUR FATHER who art in heaven...

Govor Alfreda BreŽnika AM
Spoštovani: p. Ciril, p.David, p.Darko, laiška misijonarka Marija; ga. mag. Jana Grilc, odpravnica poslov veleposlaništva RS v Canberri, častna konzula RS – g. Derry Maddison za Vic. in g. Peter Mandel in g. Florjan Auser, predstavniki slovenskih organizacij, vsi nastopajoči in organizatorji današnjega koncerta, cenjeni gostje, drage rojakinje in dragi rojaki.
Že, ko sta v Avstralijo, pred 63. leti, t.j. maja meseca 1951, prispela prva patra frančiškana, p.Klavdij Okorn in p.Beno Korbič, sta 6 mesecev pozneje izdala že prvo številko MISLI – takrat bivajoča v Sydneyu.
Slovenskega mladinskega koncerta v Avstraliji, praznujemo še en velik in pomemben zgodoviski dogodek in to za celoten slovenski krščanski rod, t.j.500-letnico Slovenske Frančiškanske province sv. Križa. Res velik dogodek je to!
Naše iskrene čestitke celotni slovenski Frančškanski provinci in še posbej vam naši dragi patri tukaj v Avstraliji! In hvala vam!
Ob koncu, še enkrat, čestitke vsem nastopajočim in organizatorjem današnjega koncerta. Z veseljem pričakujemo še drugi del koncerta.
Hvala lepa.

Nagovor mag. Jane Grilc ob 40. slovenskem mladinskem koncertu v Melbournu
Florjan Auser in g. Peter Mandelj, predstavniki slovenskih organizacij v Avstraliji.

V meni bije slovensko srce
G Rijavec & I Pirkovič
Nismo veliki, bolj malo nas je,
vendar smo pridni in dobri ljudje,
našo deželo in ves ta naš rod,
ti pomahala v bridko slovo.
V meni bije slovensko srce,
objema morje, objema gore,
ko se trobojnica dvigne nad vse,
v meni bije slovensko srce.
V meni bije slovensko srce,
objema morje, objema gore,
ko se trobojnica dvigne nad vse,
v meni bije slovensko srce.
Saj bije v ritmu zdravljice v en glas,
belo, modro, rdeče za nas,
belo, modro, rdeče za nas.
